Iswift review12/24/2023 ![]() Purchased in May 2022 at Suzuki Dealers for $32,598. When I have had the car for 6 months or so I may add to this review. The only thing I can put that down to is poor tyres or their car was in bad need of repair ! Perhaps some earlier year models had an issue which I don't know about but has clearly been sorted now. The one thing I was not able to duplicate is poor handling and steering at higher speeds as one reviewer on here mentioned. I feel that the distance even at its least setting still gives way too big a gap but in saying that, do we really want to completely leave it up to a machine to make a closer judgement! It's the new type which monitors the cars in front of you and applies the brakes when you are getting too close which can be adjusted. Cruise control is not the normal run of the mill one either. Electronics is not lacking in this model of the car with a large infotainment screen ( no Satnav but phone connection via phone lead and then you can access your phone apps including google maps)electric mirrors, electric windows ,blind spot warning signals in the mirrors, out of lane warning and cruise control. I am sure I can get better fuel consumption over time and I can see it would be really low over long open road trips. However as with all cars it greatly depends on how you drive. In the short time I have owned the Swift Turbo, I can tell you it has good fuel economy and early signs are 5.8 litres/100kms with a good portion of City driving. I really feel that in these modern times drum brakes should be ch in the tip. I can't.I was going to say I can't understand why they still use drum brakes but of course it's to save money. Also cause of the discs brakes front and back, the Swift of course had superior stopping. Read more mall car and was great at obsorbing bumps better than the Toyota Yaris. The Swift handled well on the road for a s. The Suzuki Swift GLX Turbo comes standard with dics brakes all round. The Yaris I tested clearly was slower at braking and I had to adjust how I would normally drive. Also, their top range model had only drum brakes on the rear. Disliked the rough ride and clunky feel it gave. I test drived a 2022 Toyota Yaris mid range with a petrol engine. Hybrids in any make had an 8 to 12 month wait which I was unwilling to wait for. Only just recently bought this car and at the time, I was looking for a hybrid. ![]() This review does not even warrant 1 star. All she can do is now spread the word of the poor product and customer service from Suzuki Australia. As a pensioner $3000 is alot of money but it's also the inconvience of not having a car for a minimum of approximately 8 weeks. To be told there is nothing they can do to honour the fault is appalling. Read more and other road users that this did not occur while travelling at speed as it could of ended in one or several fatalities. ![]() The customer service she has received from Suzuki Australia is well below average Luckily for her. ![]() The car may be 9 years old but has only travelled 32000km and this should not occur. 2 days later she was informed that the steering column was gone and would need replacing at a cost if $3000. My mother purchased a Suzuki Swift In July 2013.The vehicle has been serviced for the entirety at Ballarat Suzuki Approximately 1 week ago she drove the vehicle and realised something wasn't right with the steering and drove it straight to the dealership.
